Artist in Residence Program

“The Park is not an outdoor museum of sculpture placed statically in a landscape setting, but rather an ever-changing partnership between the artist and environment, as reflected in nearly every installation or performance.”

In 1993, just two years after Dorothy and Bob Riester founded the Art Park, they began the Artist-in-Residence program. Hundreds of nationally and internationally recognized artists have traveled to the Art Park to interpret and create works of art.  For more than 20 years, this program has remained an integral part of the Art Park’s mission and daily operations. Today, much of the Art Park’s collection of on-site artwork represents the ideas and work of past Artists-in-Residence.

The Art Park is re-designing its Artist-in-Residence program for 2017. It will be doing invitation only residencies for 2016.

We will be putting together an advisory committee in 2016  to help us re-think the program. If you are interested in serving on this committee please call or email Emily at (315) 655-3196 or
