Workshops with Mary Gosden

Mary Gosden is an internationally acclaimed, award winning porcelain painter.   She currently teaches 3-4 day painting workshops worldwide.  With a love of architecture and Art Deco style, Mary has developed her own stylistic method with the use of modern materials and techniques (including sandblasting) to create work that is unique and distinctive worldwide.

Mary is offering two porcelain workshops at Stone Quarry Hill Art Park.

June 22-24, 2017. Oils on Porcelain, Architecture

October 26-28, 2017. Oils on Porcelain, Ornaments

Material and Tool List- Architecture

Participants are encouraged to obtain these items prior to the workshop or they may purchase them from Mary by contacting her at gosdart@aol.com.

Images: Participants are encouraged to bring photo copies of architecture they find intriguing.  Mary will also have additional architectural photo copies.

Paints:  Yellow Brown, Yellow Red, Pompadour Brown, Blue/Green, Green/Blue, Blue Violet,   Cool Grey, Black

Brushes:  Scharff Square Shaders (Aqua Flow 920 series) ½” or larger, A Fine Liner Brush

Tracing Supplies:  Graphite Paper, Photo must be on copier paper (not glossy paper).  Scissors, tape, pen for tracing.

Additional Materials:    Q-tips (pointed and regular), Palette Knife, Open Medium, Paper Towels, Alcohol, Tile to put paints on, Dish for oil, Turntable or easel if needed

Tile:  8” x 10” or 10” x 14” Porcelain tile.

Mary will have the following for sale: Open Medium, Scharff brushes, Paint colors, Flexible rulers, Pencil that fires out, Pen holders, Pen nibs, Q-tips (pointed and regular)

Material and Tool List- ORNAMENTS

Images: Participants are encouraged to bring music as well as any other pictorial subjects that they would like to pen onto ornaments.  (i.e. birds, holiday subjects, etc.)

Lathe:  For eggs/ornaments. (available @amazon.com: craft lathe)

Porcelain:  balls/eggs

Brushes:  Scharff Square Shaders (Aqua Flow, 920 series) ¼” and larger, One Liner Brush

Paints:  Yellow Brown, Yellow Red, Pompadour Brown, Blue/Green, Green/Blue, Blue Violet,         Cool Grey, Black
