2017 National Juried Exhibition: In-Habit: Practice and Place

The Art Park hosts a National Juried exhibition every July. This program brings art from all across the country to the Central new York audience. 


Artists creating work within the last two years are encouraged to apply. If awarded, artwork must be suitable for installation and must not exceed 60″ in any firm dimension. Two-dimensional works must not weigh more than 40 lbs., including frame and must be ready to hang with the appropriate attached hardware. Three-dimensional works weighing over 80 lbs. must have a base that can be rolled or composed of elements that can be easily moved. Digital and non-traditional media will be considered.

ENTRY:

All applications must be submitted through this online application or emailed to stephen@stonequarryhillartpark.org.


The theme for the 2017 exhibition is In-Habit: Practice and Place. Submissions should loosely relate to ideas of how our actions, habits, regimens, culture etc. generate materiality thereby creating or defining objects in space.


Please submit the following using the form below. Once you hit "submit" you will be directed to the payment page.

Artist statement around 500 words about the piece being submitted.


Artist bio/resume around 500 word statement or resume that reflects the artists background 


Submission list please list the title, size, medium, price, description(e.g. front, back, detail), and corresponding file names for each image you upload 


*Please list your name and email address on both the artists statement and bio.  


3-5 Images per entry  Images must be .jpeg format 


The cost to apply is $35 per entry (one entry= 1-3 artworks/submissions) with $5 per additional submission


If you need to submit more than 5 images, please upload a compressed folder of your images.


DEADLINE: 

The final deadline to submit is May 31, 2017. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on May 31, 2017 to be considered for exhibition


TERMS:

Sales: All works in the show must be for sale. The gallery will take a 25 percent commission on all sales.  Sale price is determined by the artist.


Entry Fees: There is a $35.00 entry fee to submit one-three pieces of work. There is an additional fee of $5.00 for each additional artwork submitted.  Payments by credit card are required at the time of entry or can be taken over the phone (315) 655-3196.


Image Use/ Copyrights:  Artist retains all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. Digital images submitted with artist entry are for exhibition selection only and will be deleted after completion of the selection process.  By entering the competition, artists selected to exhibit grant Stone Quarry Hill Art Park rights to use the selected image(s) on printed materials and the gallery website for promotional purposes only.  Stone Quarry Hill Art Park retains no copyrights to artists’ work.


Notification: Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than June 15, 2017.  Notification will be made via email.  All artists who provide a working email address will be notified via email, if no email is provided, artists will be notified via phone or postal mail only if accepted to exhibit.


Privacy Policy: Artist contact information (address, telephone, etc.)  is only held for the purpose of contacting selected artists and is not preserved in any database.  Entry data and image files are deleted on the completion of the jury process.  All artist emails will be added to our future events announcement email list.  Artists who do not wish to be on the email list may unsubscribe when they receive their notification.
